Corrective Action Glossary Definition

Corrective Action is work taken to bring project performance or deliverables back into alignment with the plan or requirements.

It addresses an existing variance or problem, unlike preventive action, which reduces the chance of future problems.

Project teams use this concept when a decision, deliverable, baseline, or problem needs controlled handling rather than informal adjustment.
