Workload Identity Glossary Definition

Workload identity is the identity assigned to software workloads so applications, services, jobs, or containers can authenticate without relying on long-lived human credentials.

Cloud teams use workload identities to give applications least-privilege access to resources while reducing secrets stored in code or configuration.
