Link Budget Glossary Definition

Link Budget - a calculation based on satellite power, earth station power and antenna size which is used to determine the appropriate hardware needed for a particular location or locations.

Link Budget is a Telecommunications satellite or microwave concept used to transmit communications through radio links, earth stations, antennas, or orbiting spacecraft.

Satellite and microwave professionals use this concept when planning links, coverage, latency, earth-station equipment, and line-of-sight communications.
